I graduated from Illinois State University in 1999 with my Bachelor's Degree in Special Education. I then moved to the Chicagoland area to teach. While there I taught in an 8th grade classroom and a combined 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade classroom for a total of 8 years. I also got married in 2003. I began my Master's Program at National Louis University in 2005 and welcomed my first child, Alexander, in 2006. After this very eventful time, my husband had a new opportunity in Milwaukee. We were excited for the big change! We packed up our son and our dog and moved north to Wisconsin.
Since the relocation, I have taught at Great Expectations, an alternative behavior program, in West Bend, WI, finished my Master's Degree in Reading, and welcomed another child, Sarah. In 2011, the wonderful opportunity to teach within the Glendale- River Hills School District became available to me. I took that chance and as a result, I look forward to working with my students everyday and I gain joy and satisfaction from their successes.
