Superintendent's Message

A Message from Larry Smalley, District Administrator

Welcome to the Glendale-River Hills School District. It is my pleasure to serve the students and citizens of this community. As part of an amazing team of educators, we embrace the privilege of welcoming every child as an individual with untold potential. Our charge is to create fertile ground to develop the hearts, minds and bodies of the next generation.

The moment a mother and father walk hand-in-hand with their son or daughter into Parkway School on the first day of Junior Kindergarten, we realize the magnitude of our responsibility. The hopeful and innocent eyes of the four-year-old meet the teary eyes of the parents as a new stage of life begins. Ten years later, families gather and the emotion wells up again as parents joyfully watch their child walk across the stage, graduating from Glen Hills Middle School.

As educators, as partners with parents and the community, it is our mission to guide and support this journey of development; to realize that we are keys to the future success and fulfillment of all students. We take this responsibility seriously and find joy in this charge.

It is an honor to be part of a proven organization of excellence that is dedicated to the individual needs of children. The Glendale-River Hills School District will continue to strive to find creative ways to serve students and the community as a whole.
