Grants Glendale River Hills School District Foundation Requests for Funding The Foundation encourages teachers, administrators, parents, and other stakeholders to become involved in researching, developing and proposing educational initiatives. The grant requests will be reviewed and evaluated by the Grant Allocation Committee of the Foundation Board. The Committee will include Foundation members, administrators, and community members. This process helps ensure that: - Teachers and administrators, who ultimately will be involved in implementation, will be involved in the evaluation and feasibility of the requests.
- The goals of the proposed initiative are not already being accomplished by some other means.
- Other funding sources are being considered before submitting the proposed initiative to the Foundation.
Requests for funding must be submitted in writing, using the grant request package. Hard copy requests will be submitted to the Chairperson of the Grant Allocation Committee for consideration. The purpose of the form is to make sure that all relevant information is collected at the time the request is submitted, as well as help ensure that all requests are evaluated equally. Verbal or incomplete requests will not be considered. Evaluation All requests for funding will be submitted to the Grant Allocation Committee of the Board of Trustees. The Committee will make a recommendation to the full board once in the spring and once in the fall. Requests will be reviewed using the following criteria. Does the proposed initiative: - Improve the educational opportunities and/or academic performance of the students in the district?
- Benefit a sufficiently broad cross-section of the student body?
- Offer benefits to students not currently being met through other means, or that normally would be met through other means?
- Conform to the laws, rules, procedures and generally accepted standards of the community and school district?
- Offer some type of measurable outcomes?
- The criteria are general guidelines. All requests for grants will be considered on their merits on a case-by-case basis.
Notification Individuals requesting a grant will be notified, in writing, whether or not the Board of Trustees has granted their request. This written notification will be made within two weeks of the full board’s decision. |
